PEER REVIEW PROCESS

We use a double-blind system for peer review: The identities of both reviewers and authors remain anonymous. Each submitted manuscript is peer reviewed by at least two experts. In some rare cases, we may start a third round of peer review according to the recommendations from editors and reviewers.

Recruitment for Reviewers

Participation in the peer-review process is absolutely essential to the success and reputation of the journal. Reviewers and editors determine which works are of quality and significance. Due to our extensive readership, the research and scholarship selected by our reviewers will ultimately have an impact on literacy in national and international classrooms.

  • Include any necessary approvals for studies involving human subjects, if applicable.
  • Disclose any potential conflicts of interest.

NALANS adheres to the guidelines set by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) to ensure integrity in all aspects of publication.

  1. Editorial Preview-Check: Initial assessment by editors to ensure fit with journal scope and standards.
  2. Editor Assignment: Assignment of reviewers based on expertise.
  3. Double-Blind Review: Review and recommendations, which may lead to acceptance, revisions, or rejection.

Average review time is approximately (time, e.g., 8 weeks).

Review and Publication Duration

We aim to proceed with an average time from submission to publication being approximately (an average time of 6 months, as long as the authors comply with the author’s guidelines and ensure they have completed all necessary steps during the processes. The authors are required/encouraged to follow the “review discussions” section rather than writing repetitive emails. The authors are notified about any drawbacks or technical issues via the announcement section.

■ Due to the high volume of submissions, our editors and reviewers are diligently working through a substantial queue.

■ Each submission is automatically assigned a number for possible consideration.
